REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR THEME DEVELOPMENT,
DESIGNING, CONSTRUCTION, DISMANTLING, EVENT MANAGEMET / PROGRAMME FOR PAKISTAN
PAVILION IN
WORLD EXPO 2010, SHANGHAI, CHINA
TENDER NOTICE
Trade Development Authority of Pakistan has been
entrusted by the Prime Minister of Pakistan the task of world class
participation of Pakistan in the World Expo 2010, Shanghai, China (May 1 to
October 31, 2010). The theme of the world expo 2010 id "Better City, Better
Life" with five sub themes i.e. (a) "Urban cultural diversity"
(b) "Urban economic growth and prosperity" (c) "Innovation of
science and technology in urban context" (d) "Interaction between
urban and rural areas". TDAP invites tender from companies for
conceptualizing the theme/design, participation and execution including
managing, dismantling and event management/ programme for 6 months for Pakistan
Pavilion. Applicants are advised to completely read and digest all material
specially relating to the theme and pavilion design.
TORs can be obtained, free of cost, from TDAP
Office in Karachi. It is also available in TDAP's website www.tdap.gov.pk.

TDAP is looking for companies having ability to
comprehend the project, creatively weave the requirement of economic progress of
Pakistan with the prescribed theme, design an appropriate Pakistan pavilion and
6 months programme, administrative and technical ability, relevant experience,
financial strength etc.
To evidence the above the companies may put
forward whatever they consider appropriate to convince the Technical Committee.
As for creativity, they may propose the theme, design and 6 months programme and
using any audio / visuals they consider appropriate to explain and justify the
proposal, its practically and their ability to execute successfully.
For theme development, pavilion design,
programme, construction, event management, administrative and technical ability
etc. they may coordinate with event organizers / service providers abroad
specially in China as recommended by the official organizers (list can be
obtained from the www.tdap.gov.pk).
Criteria for suitability will include, but not
limited to, size of the organization, its age, relevance of experience of
handling similar assignments within and outside Pakistan, profile of personnel
who will be dedicated to the assignment, profile and number of people in
support, nature of in-house facilities and expertise for designing,
construction, management and financial strength of the organization. Applicants
must be income tax registered. Affiliation with International organizations for
managing this project, backed with written (preferably) JV agreement, or as
minimum, MOU's reflecting the nature and extent of mutual collaboration for this
assignment, will be an added advantage.
Please send your Technical and Financial
Proposals in two separate envelopes (clearly marked) latest by 27th July,
2007 to Assistant Director (Expo Chine 2010), TDAP (Secretary's Office), 5th
Floor, Block-A, FTC, Sharea Faisal, Karachi.
Technical proposals will be evaluated by the
Technical Committee and for the short listed firms the financial bids will be
opened. Form amongst the short listed proposals the lowest cost bidder will be
awarded the assignment. TDAP reserves the rights to accept or reject any tender
without assigning any reason.
Those firms who had applied / or were short
listed earlier may re-apply as the previous offer stands cancelled.
