Freight Subsidy

Scheme for Freight Subsidy on Exports

Attention of exporters in invited to the TDAP (Formerly EPB) Public Notice No. 2(6)/2006/PPI dated August 31, 2006. A number of suggestions received from the trade about modifications in the scheme have been considered and the following changes are hereby notified. All these changes, will take effect from the date of this Public Notice.

1. Freight subsidy has been allowed on FOB exports. The freight factor will be taken as 10% of the FOB value.

2. Verification of freight by the Pakistan International Freight Forwarders Association or the Air Cargo Agents Association will be required. Where cargo of several exporters are consolidated, copy of master Bill of Lading/Air Way Bill will also need to be provided.

3. The requirement of stamping of GD documents with "Under Freight Subsidy Claim" has been dispensed with.

4. The time limit for filling subsidy claims has been increased from 30 days to 60 days of the shipment date. This relaxation will also be applicable to the claims already filed.
