CNG Bus Project Sponsored by Government of Pakistan Under Public -Private Partnership Arrangement

City District Government Karachi (CDGK) is launching a CNG Bus Project that aims at introducing Environment Friendly Public Transport System on Public - Private Partnership basis in Karachi. It is envisaged that over the next five years around 2500 dedicated CNG buses would be inducted in Karachi. It is expected that in the first phase 500 buses would be procured and operated by the Private Sector. The buses would have to amply with specifications of CNG buses notified by the Government of Pakistan (GoP)

CDGK and Government of Sindh would provide enabling environment to the private sector. Additionally the GoP will be provide subsidy on mark up to  facilities the operators on loan / leasing of buses from Banks / Financial institutions for which the GoP has already made necessary funding provision in the Public Sector Development Program to support it. On the success of Karachi CNG Bus Project, the same would be replicated to other major cities of Pakistan.

Expression of Internet (EOI) is hereby invited form reputable national/international manufacturers and suppliers of dedicated CNG Buses. The interested parties must provide the following information:

• Details of the Company / firm along with brief profile.
• Details of Manufacturing Facilities and capacities.
• Financial details such as audited accounts, net-worth, etc.
• Details of ownership / sponsors.

Interested parties are encouraged to visit CDGK's official website www.karachicity.gov.pk or IPDF's website www.ipdf.gov.pk to review the Preliminary Information Memorandum, highlighting the salient features of the Project.

EOI accompanied with a Bank Draft in favor of "Karachi Mass Transit Cell, CDGK" amounting to Rs. 100,000/- (non-refundable processing fee) must be delivered by not later than May 8, 2008. Further queries and clarifications can also be sought from:
