Aga Khan University (AKU) invites applications for the following position:

The Department of Medicine is the largest department in the AKU Medical College, having a total of over 250 employees, including over 100 faculty members, with a strong commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate education, research and clinical service. It offers comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services for adults and has independent sections of Gastroenterology, Cardiology, Neurology, Oncology, Pulmonary / Cardiology, Infectious Diseases, Endocrinology, Rheumatology, Emergency Medicine, Nephrology and General Internal Medicine. Residency and Fellowship programmes are offered in seven and four specialities respectively.

The Chair will provide dynamic leadership to the department and will have the responsibility to conduct its academic and service mandate. Candidates must have suitable postgraduate qualifications with extensive leadership, managerial and clinical experience in a teaching hospital. The incumbent should have strong interpersonal skills, notable achievements in research and teaching, as well as administrative experience at a senior level. The appointment will be initially for three years, renewable for a further two years subject to performance review.
