Aga Khan Health Services:
With community health programme in large geographical areas in Central and South Asia, as well as East Africa, and more then 200 health facilities including nine hospitals, the Aga Khan Health Services (AKHS) is one of the most comprehensive private not-for-profit care efforts in the first half care efforts in the developing world. Building on the Ismaili Community Health of the 20th century, AKHS now provides primary health care and curative medical care in Afghanistan, India, Kenya, Pakistan and Tanzania, and provides technical assistance to government in health services delivery in Kenya, Syria and Tajikistan.
THE POSITION:
Aga Khan Health Services, Pakistan (AKHS,P) is one of the most comprehensive private not-for-profit health care systems in the country, AKHS,P provides primary and secondary health care in Sindh including Karachi, Punjab, Chitral and Northern Areas. It currently operates four maternal and child hospitals and over 150 health Centres. The health care programmes and facilities are designed to reach vulnerable groups in society especially child-bearing women and young children.
The CEO is responsible for:

Planning, organizing and managing operations of AKHS,P
-
Providing leadership for the development of all aspects of AKHS,P Programme and coordinate and monitor its effective implementation:
-
Establishing effective and fruitful relations with government, AKDN institutions , international agencies and NGOs, and with other public and private provides of health care.
The role will involve management of the organization is a process of change, strategy and health systems development, needs assessment , budget setting, partnering, monitoring, evaluation and significant internal and external dialogue, Specific aspects of the role are as follows:

Leading and coordinating the implementation of the process of change:

Ensuring effectiveness and efficiency of the programmes and initiatives of the organization

Ensuring overall organizational discipline

Ensuring that the issues of financial self-sustainability of the health programmes are managed, while ensuring access and affordability to the underserved communities:

Giving direction to the quality improvement strategies for the delivery of the health services e.g. organization audits, accreditation etc:

Overseeing stringent financial controls for performance and budget development, ensure achievement of volume and coverage targets.

Directing the management and development of AKHS, Ps human resources, with particular emphasis on building institutional capacity and succession planning:

Working towards the attraction , retention and development of volunteers so that they continue to contribute towards the Institutional goals:

Ensuring that AKHS,P perspectives are actively contributed in health policy dialogue:

Ensuring adequate measurement and documentation of monitoring and evaluation of the programme and lessons learnt and their appropriate and timely dissemination to the stakeholders.
THE REQUIREMENT
The Ideal candidate will have the following:

An advanced University degree:
-
Extensive relevant experience (in the order of 15 years) with at least 5 years in a top executive role, and with significant time spent in Pakistan.

An intuitive, strategic thinker, able to develop health strategy and policy and evaluate and monitor success:

A natural leader with presence and stature, able to forge partnership, build trust and command respect:

Strong interpersonal skills, backed by excellent people management, communications and negotiating skills:
