Head, Education, Communication & Knowledge Management (ECK) Unit

IUCN Pakistan is assisting the federal, provincial, regional and district governments, civil society organizations and other stake holders in promoting the protection of environment, conservation and sustainable use of natural resources and sustainable development.

POSITION:

IUCN Pakistan is looking for Head, ECK Unit, based in IUCN Pakistan Country Office, Karachi.

Specific duties include:

• Develop and implement the IUCNP communications strategy thereby improving IUCN's influence and branding vis-a-vis members, partners, donors, and the public;
• Work with Programme teams to help integrate effective and professional communications into programme development, management and delivery;
• Provide guidance, and training to IUCN programme on education, communications, publications, knowledge management and media relations;
• Manage, guide and build the communication, knowledge management  and advocacy related work of IUCN in Pakistan.

The successful candidate will have:

• A degree in journalism, communications and/or media related field;
• At least 5-8 years experience in the related field preferably at a senior level;
• Comprehensive understanding of global / regional communications, media relations and branding;
• Fluency in written and spoken English with strong writing skills;
• Sound understanding of broader conservation issues;
• Acquaintance with geographical surroundings alongwith cultural and local language highly desirable;
• Strong public relations and presentation skills with team playing abilities and capacity to network with diverse set of people;
• Knowledge of donor environment in Pakistan would be an added advantage;
• Ability to build and lead an effective team and deliver under pressure.
