DEAN, MEDICAL COLLEGE (based in Karachi)

The AKU Medical College is the leading research led medical institute in Pakistan. It offers undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate education programmes as well as vibrant, multidisciplinary research programmes in the biological, community and clinical sciences which are supported by an excellent research infrastructure as well as strong internal and extramural grant support.

The Dean of the Medical College will provide leadership for its faculty, staff, students and activities. He /She will carry out strategic planning as a member of the University's senior management team and formulate policies related to the administration and resourcing for the current and future educational, research and outreach programmes of the Medical College. The ideal candidate should have appropriate professional qualifications and substantial experience in education and a proven track record in research, professional service, faculty development and leadership in academic administration.

DEAN, SCHOOL OF NURSING (based in Karachi)

Established in 1980, Aga Khan University - School of Nursing (AKUSON) is the first academic component of the University. It has played a pivotal role in changing public perceptions towards the nursing profession and has established in Pakistan an internationally recognized and acceptable model for nursing education and practice. At present, AKUSON conducts four academic programmes: General Nursing (RN) Diploma (3 years), BScN (4 years), Post RN BScN (2 years) and MScN (2 years)

The Dean will provide academic leadership for the School of Nursing so as to develop programmes that relevant to the needs of Pakistan and other developing countries. He / She will carry out strategic planning as a member of the University's senior management team and formulate policies for the administration and resourcing of the current and future educational, research and outreach programmes of the School. The ideal candidate should be a Registered Nurse and have a PhD, with substantial experience in education, research, professional service, faculty development and leadership in academic administration and a demonstrable commitment to development of the nursing profession.
